Arlington, TEXAS – The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) invites the public to provide input on the region’s next long-range transportation plan and other initiatives during a hybrid public meeting at noon on Monday, April 7.

The meeting will be held in the Transportation Council Room at the NCTCOG offices, located at 616 Six Flags Drive in Arlington. Those unable to attend in person can view the meeting online at PublicInput.com/nctcogApr25. Residents can also participate by calling 855-925-2801 and entering code 11203. Public comments will be accepted until May 6.

The meeting will feature a presentation on Mobility 2050, the region's upcoming long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). This plan is being developed to guide transportation investments and address regional needs through 2050. Staff will discuss progress made as well as next steps. More details are available at NCTCOG.org/PlanInProgress.

Additionally, staff will provide an update on regional performance for two groups of transit measures: Transit Asset Management (TAM) and the Public Transit Agency Safety Plan (PTASP). Draft PTASP performance measures will also be covered, as new targets need to be approved and adopted by the Regional Transportation Council by the end of Fiscal Year 2025.

An overview of the Transportation Alternatives Program will also be given and include a summary of submitted applications and the evaluation process. Projects eligible for funding under this program include the construction of on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities,  connections to public transit and walking/biking infrastructure associated with Safe Routes to School projects.

Finally, the meeting will include discussion related to the Northeast Texas Rural Rail Transportation District (NETEX) Rail Corridor and its importance for future transportation initiatives.. The corridor currently requires updates, including improvements to tracks, bridges and other infrastructure on the existing operational line.

Members of the public will also be able to take an online survey related to regional bicycle safety at PublicInput.com/bikesafety.

The interactive public input tool, Map Your Experience, air quality funding opportunities, Try Parking It program and GoCarma’s 3 million HOV discounts milestone will also be highlighted.

Residents planning to use transit to attend the meeting can take advantage of $6 round-trip rides from the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station to NCTCOG via the Arlington Transportation app. Visit ArlingtonTX.gov/ondemand to download the app.
