Safety

The NCTCOG Safety Program continues to focus on improving the safety of our transportation system by focusing on programs and projects that assist in reducing the number of crashes, serious injuries, and fatalities on our regional roadways.

The Four "E's" of Transportation Safety: Engineering, Enforcement, Education, and Emergency Response, continue to be integral to improving safety across all modes.

  • Engineering: Design, traffic, maintenance, operations, and planning professionals
  • Enforcements: State and local law enforcement agencies
  • Education: Prevention specialists, communication professionals, educators, and advocacy groups
  • Emergency Response: First responders and critical service providers
