We are always in need of caring volunteers!
Volunteer Roles
- A Matter of Balance Fall Prevention Coaches – lead a series of eight classes that comprise the small-group workshop to reduce the risk of falling and improve balance, flexibility, strength and a positive mind-set
- Benefits Counselors – help clients understand their Medicare benefits to make decisions regarding supplement coverage, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Part D prescription drug plans
- Senior Medicare Patrol Fraud and Abuse Educators (SMP) – help educate older adults on ways they can protect themselves from Medicare fraud. Contact Melinda Gardner at 817-695-9122 or email ship@nctcog.org.
- Ombudsman – be the voice for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities who have concerns about their quality of care
- Healthy Living Self-Management Program Coaches – lead one or more self-management programs. They include:
- Chronic Conditions
- Diabetes
- Chronic Pain
Each self-management program consists of six classes, held once a week for 2.5 hours. Topics include exercising, eating well, managing
