Incident Management Freeway Blocking Equipment
2021 Call for Projects
A total of $1 million dollars is available through NCTCOG's Incident Management (IM) Freeway Blocking Equipment 2021 Call for Projects (CFP) to eligible agencies for the purchase of scene management blocking equipment used to provide protection to first responders responding to traffic crashes in the North Central Texas nonattainment area. The CFP covers multiple jurisdictions throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Planning Area, including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise Counties.
Types of equipment eligible for funding include, but is not limited to, crash attenuators, crash barriers, crash cushions, etc. The CFP opens on Friday, September 3, 2021, and the deadline to submit completed applications is Monday, November 1, 2021 at 5:00 pm Central Time.
An Incident Management Blocking Equipment CFP Forum was held on September 13, 2021, to provide partner agencies with additional information about the CFP, the schedule, and a time for questions and answers.

Types of equipment eligible for funding included but was not limited to: cones, protective clothing, traffic barriers, signs, cameras, flares, barrels, lighting, radio equipment, accident reconstruction equipment/ technology, etc. Agencies selected to receive funding are responsible for purchasing the desired equipment and seeking reimbursement from NCTCOG.
