Air North Texas is a regional public awareness campaign and partnership that seeks to improve air quality in North Texas. Air North Texas offers all North Texans, including individuals, businesses and governments, resources related to improving air quality.

Freight Safety Awareness
Regional transportation safety initiatives are developed to create a safer environment for bicyclists and pedestrians, commuters, first responders, commercial motor vehicle operators and anyone else traveling from one place to another on our roadways. North Central Texas has an enormous volume of freight being transported every day, by semi- trucks and other Commercial Motor Vehicles.  If you own it, a truck probably brought it.

Look Out Texans
Launched in October 2015, the Look Out Texans campaign encourages North Texans to watch out for one another and offers specific tips to bike, walk and drive safely together. The campaign was developed by the North Central Texas Council of Governments and funded by the Texas Department of Transportation.

NCTCOG and the Regional Transportation Council have served as the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization, since 1974. On August 8, 2024, we celebrated 50 years of transportation planning accomplishments with a Luncheon at the Irving Convention Center, held in conjunction with the Infrastructure Summit 2024. The program brought together representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss the regional impact of the RTC.

North Central Texas Aviation Careers
The North Central Texas Council of Governments’ (NCTCOG) Transportation Department and Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas collaborated to develop a robust and interactive website for students to explore career possibilities in aviation and aerospace; learn about available opportunities at local academic institutions; and provide parents and educators with information to assist students in achieving their career goals.

North Texas Aviation Education Initiative

The North Texas Aviation Education Initiative was initiated by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) from a widely recognized need for additional aviation workforce regionally and nationally.  Despite its preeminence in the aviation industry, and the demonstrated need to train additional aviation professionals, the region lacks a public university with an integrated comprehensive four-year college program for students who would like to pursue an aviation career.
