Hydrology and Hydraulics

The TSI study team enhanced hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling to better understand existing and future flood risk, including updates to the Trinity River Watershed Hydrology Assessment (WHA) hydrologic model and Federal Emergency Management Agency-generated Base Level Engineering (BLE) hydraulic models.

Coming Soon: All updated H&H modeling can be downloaded through the Texas Disaster Information System (TDIS) portal.

Memos describing the WHA Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) Hydrologic Modeling System (HMS) model updates performed for the following watersheds in the West Study Area are linked for more information:

The TSI Study Team also evaluated storm shifting scenarios and additional H&H modeling outputs to understand how larger or spatially shifted storm events may affect the West Study Area. The Storm Shifting Analysis Memo examines the effects of shifting an observed 2004 storm over Village Creek in Everman and Mary’s Creek in Benbrook.
