Water Resources Council
The Water Resources Council (WRC), established in 1979 and comprised of a maximum of 33 members, advises NCTCOG's Executive Board on both technical and policy issues related to water resources matters. The WRC also oversees the water resources planning process and performs technical review of water-related grant applications.
Of the 33 members on the Water Resources Council, six are primary members, who each represent the major utility providers in the region. Those six primary members are then allotted no more than two seats for either their utility provider customers or someone else within their organization. Twelve members serve in the membership category that includes any utility provider representative or representative from the development community or water resources industry in the NCTCOG region. The three remaining seats are for representatives from environmental and public interest groups. Members of the Water Resources Council serve a two-year term, with half of the seats requiring action each year by NCTCOG's Executive Board. A Chair and Vice Chair are appointed annually by the Board.
The Water Resources Council meets quarterly. Further information on the water quality and water supply work that the WRC supports can be found on NCTCOG's Water Resources page.
