TIPINS Query Help and Examples

You may use any combination of the query parameters in conducting your search.

Any scrolling menu left as [All] will include all projects for that parameter. Similarly, leaving the Street/Name box blank will not limit the search by street or name.

The City/County parameter is used to designate the city or county where the projects are located.  If a project falls within more than one city or county, it will be included in the results if any part of the project falls within the designated city or county.

The Implementing Agency parameter is used to designate the agency that submitted the projects for funding.  If a project is being implemented under the cooperation of more than one agency, it will be included in the results if any one of the agencies is specified.

The Project Type parameter is used to designate the type of project you wish to view.
For a description of project types, click here.

The Street/Name parameter is used to find projects on a particular street. The search engine takes your input text string and looks for all projects having a location on a street containing that text.  If a project is comprised of multiple "sublocations", only those "sublocations" matching the input text string will be returned; the overall project information will be displayed above the "subprojects."  Projects with street names longer than the input string will be included. For example, using "Wood" as the input string will include "Inwood," "Harwood," etc. in the results; typing "arap" will find Arapahoe Rd. The search is not case-sensitive. To find a highway, you may simply type in its number in the Street/Name box. If you wish to include the highway type, use "IH" for Interstates, "US" for United States highways, "SH" for state highways, and "FM" for farm-to-market roads; separate the highway prefix and number with one space (for example, IH 20).

There are a few projects that are identified by a name rather that a street. Examples include vanpools
and outreach programs. To find this type of project, type a keyword, such as "outreach," into the
Street/Name box.

To find all projects that are regional in scope and do not have a specific location, click on the
link beneath the Street/Name box entitled "Click here to view all regional projects."

If no project meets the criteria you specify, you will get a message saying so. You may
wish to try the query again with different parameters.
