Conserve North Texas

Conserve North Texas serves as a clearinghouse to easily locate resources and tools that support efforts to conserve resources related to water, energy, and fuel. The website allows users to browse and discover hundreds of resources, tools, and case studies. 

Go Solar Texas

To increase deployment of solar energy across Texas, Go Solar Texas compiles key resources for Texans interested in learning more about going solar, and includes Texas-specific resources on best management practices for local governments. Resources are available for homeowners, business owners, local municipalities, independent school districts, non-profit utilities, community groups, and solar professionals.

Texas SmartScape

Texas SmartScape™ is helping to promote education on pollution prevention through efficient and effective water use for the benefit of our citizens. The site teaches residents how to create beautiful landscapes that will survive the rains of spring, droughts of summer, and cold snaps of winter, while also protecting our water resources. The website includes landscape design and care information, a large database of Texas native and adapted plants, and landscape/gardening event listings for all of North Texas.

Defend Your Drains and Cease the Grease

The Defend Your Drains North Texas campaign is an educational effort that encourages residents to properly dispose of items that can harm a home's plumbing system, the region's wastewater treatment systems, and water quality.  A sub-campaign of Defend Your Drains, Cease the Grease North Texas focuses on properly disposing of fats, oils and grease in order to avoid household and environmental damage as well as costly cleanup.

Time To Recycle

Time to Recycle is designed to offer easy access to recycling programs available in the North Central Texas region, increasing awareness of the benefits of recycling and encouraging all citizens in the region to participate in local recycling programs. The website includes a recycling facility locator to assist citizens with recycling items that are not typically accepted in their curbside program, or for those who do not have access to curbside recycling.

Report Illegal Dumping

Report DFW Dumping provides a single, easy-to-use method to report illegal dumping in the North Central Texas region. The goal of the site is to increase awareness of the hazards of illegally dumping trash and to encourage all citizens in the region to participate in local recycling and solid waste programs. Citizens can report an illegal dump site anywhere in the 16-county region and the report will be sent to the correct local authority for action.

Development Excellence

The mission of the Center of Development Excellence is to promote quality growth in North Central Texas that enhances the built environment, reduces vehicle miles of travel, uses water and energy resources effectively and efficiently, and helps advance environmental stewardship in order to ensure continued economic vitality and provide the highest attainable quality of life for all residents. The website hosts the bi-annual Celebrating Leadership In Development Excellence (CLIDE) awards as well as a technical tools library which hosts over 1,000 sustainable planning documents and best practices.

integrated Stormwater Management (iSWM)

The iSWM™ Program for Construction and Development is a cooperative initiative that assists cities and counties to achieve their goals of water quality protection, streambank protection, and flood mitigation, while also helping communities meet their construction and post-construction obligations under state stormwater permits. The website hosts key documents such as a criteria manual, iSWM Technical Manual, program guidance, and a growing training library.

Flood Data North Texas

The Regional Flood Warning Software Platform provides a comprehensive look at rainfall and water levels across the North Texas region through a connected network of flood gauges made possible through partnerships with local municipalities and agencies.

Economic and Environmental Benefits of Stewardship

The Economic & Environmental Benefits of Stewardship tool can estimate the return on investment of implementing environmental stewardship to reduce the environmental effects of transportation projects. The tool can educate decision-makers about the value of environmental stewardship, and benefits are quantified when possible.  The tool identifies environmental effects of new transportation projects, appropriate stewardship activities to reduce these effects, and environmental and economic benefits of implementing stewardship activities.

Permittee Responsible Mitigation Database

The Permittee Responsible Mitigation Database helps connect landowners whose streams or wetlands need rehabilitation or restoration with developers or entities needing to rehabilitate or restore streams or wetlands to offset construction impacts elsewhere.

TXShare

The TXShare program is designed to deliver a customer-focused marketplace and meet the needs of North Texas’ public sector entities. TXShare is the direct outcome of local governments partnering to identify common needs in the North Texas area and developing solutions through collaboration and cooperative purchasing programs.
