In preparation for the upcoming 2026-2027 Fiscal year, NCTCOG held a showcase event with past NCTCOG Solid Waste Grant recipients to discuss their successes and lessons learned throughout the duration of their grant project.
NCTCOG is committed to assisting entities new to the NCTCOG Solid Waste Implementation Grant Program, those with minimal resources dedicated to grant writing, or those with other barriers to applying for grants. In preparation for the upcoming 2026-2027 fiscal year, join us for a showcase event with past NCTCOG Solid Waste Grant recipients to discuss their successes and lessons learned throughout the duration of their grant project.
Every two years, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) allocated funds generated by landfill tipping fees to the 24 councils of governments (COG) located in the state of Texas. The COGs use these funds to develop and maintain an array of programs, including an inventory of closed MSW landfills, regional coordination and planning activities, a regional solid waste/materials management plan, and administer the pass-through grant program, among many others.
The following project categories and panelists were featured.
- Local Enforcement - City of Fort Worth, 2020-21
- Source Reduction and Recycling - City of Grand Prairie, 2018-19; City of Denton, 2022-23
