Fire Advisory Board
The Fire Advisory Board provides support and technical advice to NCTCOG's Regional Codes Coordinating Committee (RCCC) on a wide range of fire issues. The subcommittee’s progress is reported regularly to the RCCC.

Fire Advisory Board Meeting – 2027 IFC Battery Safety Provisions
The Fire Advisory Board is being asked to meet to review and discuss the International Code Council’s recently released 2027 International Fire Code Chapter 43 – Battery Safety Provisions.
The purpose of this meeting will be to review the new provisions, discuss their potential impact on local jurisdictions, and consider a coordinated approach to implementation and future adoption. Topics will include lithium-ion battery storage, charging, battery-powered equipment and devices, manufacturing and recycling operations, and other emerging battery-related fire and life safety concerns.
