Status: Complete

The Old Town Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Sustainable Development Project was funded to support mixed-used development in the Old Town area. The project included sidewalk improvements and bike lanes and on-street parking as a buffer between pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It also improved a pedestrian connection from the Denton County Transportation Authority rail station. The mixed-use development in the Old Town area includes the Downtown Creative Arts Center and Art Lofts, which provides space for office, retail, residential and civic uses.

This project increased pedestrian and transit access to the various amenities located in Old Town Plaza. These include green spaces, restaurants, and local shops that are all within a mile of the DCTA rail station.

The project cost of $3,750,000 was funded through public-private partnerships.
