BCAPS members support Irving animal shelter

Members of the Basic Course in Applied Police Science (BCAPS) class 313 recently demonstrated outstanding community spirit and compassion through a generous donation drive benefiting the city of Irving animal shelter. The recruits donated a wide variety of much needed items, including dog and cat toys, blankets, towels, a dog bed, harnesses, dog treats, heating pads, pet crates, pet costumes, dog food, and peanut butter.
Beyond the donations, the recruits gave something even more meaningful: their time. During the visit, a special connection was formed between the recruits and the animals. Taking time out of their demanding training schedule to not only deliver supplies, but also interact with and comfort the animals, was truly a blessing for the shelter staff and the animals alike.
Their kindness, generosity, and commitment to serving the community exemplify the values of public service and leadership that will continue throughout their law enforcement careers.
