The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) teamed up with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) to assess mapping needs in the Upper Trinity River Basin (UTRB) within the North Central Texas area. The NCTCOG/UTRB Map Needs Assessment Project served as a pilot project to kick off the Texas Statewide Map Needs Assessment (MNA). The pilot project defined the MNA procedures and process for Texas, as well as improve efficiencies for future projects in other regions or watersheds. The MNA identified the remaining floodplain mapping needs not addressed through Map Mod and will be used during the FEMA Risk Map multi-year project. The NCTCOG/UTRB pilot project area is depicted below.
