IH 45 Corridor Zero Emission Vehicle
Through the Interstate Highway (IH) 45 Corridor Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Plan, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), which serves as the host agency for the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition (DFWCC), has outlined recommendations for build-out of new charging or fueling infrastructure to support ZEV project deployment, including both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), along IH 45.
This corridor, which carries a large amount of freight, is key to advancing air quality efforts in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston.
Both face ozone nonattainment challenges that are substantially impacted by heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
This plan was developed under an award by the Federal Highway Administration Alternative Fuels Corridor Deployment Plan Awards.
